Who makes the windshield?
Your vehicle manufacturer usually does not manufacture the windshield. Specialized automotive-glass manufacturers do, and some of those companies participate in both automaker assembly-line and replacement markets.
Terms that get mixed together
OE, OEM, OEM-branded replacement, OEE, aftermarket, and manufacturer describe different things: a supply relationship, a brand, a distribution channel, or a product description. OEE is not a universal synonym for identical-to-OE.

The decision that actually matters
Verify the proposed exact part, installed features, configuration, hardware, applicable installation procedure, needed calibration or verification, documentation, and source channel. A category label alone does not answer those vehicle-specific questions.
